“Candidating Week” is a time when our minister candidate, Rev. Justin McCreary, will be in Tulsa to meet the congregation. He’ll preach twice, host the weekly “Cocktail Hour” Zoom meeting, meet with church staff, and attend several meetings.

Here are the events to which the entire congregation is invited:

• Sunday, May 15th: At 10:00 AM, the Search Committee will deliver their report to the congregation in the Great Hall. At 11:00 AM, Rev. Justin will lead the worship service and preach.
• Thursday, May 19th: At 4:00 PM, join Rev. Justin for the weekly “Cocktail Hour” gathering (the Zoom link is at the top of each issue of Highlights). At 7:00 PM, there will be a Leadership Council meeting with Rev. Justin in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited! All members of church committees, teams, and boards are especially encouraged to attend.
• Friday, May 20th: There’s been a schedule change! The “Walt Disney – A Decade in Concert” event that had been scheduled for 7:30 PM on Friday, May 20th has been postponed, so instead, a tour of the Greenwood Rising Black Wall Street History Center will take place from 5:30-6:30 PM. A limited number of free tickets will be available at the church on Sunday, May 1st. Contact James Donovan for more information.
• Saturday, May 21st: From 1:00-2:00 PM, take a tour of the church’s gardens and grounds with Julia Harris and Rev. Justin. From 2:00-4:00 PM, Rev. Justin will join the Feed the Homeless volunteers.
• Sunday, May 22nd: At 10:00 AM, there will be a Question & Answer session with Rev. Justin in the Great Hall. At 11:00 AM, Rev. Justin will lead the worship service and preach. At 12:15 PM, the Annual Congregational Meeting will be held in the Great Hall. During the meeting, the members of the congregation will vote whether to “call” Rev. Justin to be our new settled minister.

Following the meeting, join the rest of the congregation for lunch featuring Rick Eagleton’s smoked meats!
